Rice Krispie Treats Pumpkins

Rice Krispies treats pumpkins are a fun and festive treat that is easy to make, tastes delicious, and can be decorated in different ways to fit diverse styles and themes.

How to Make Rice Krispie Treats Pumpkins

If you want to make these treats for Halloween, you’re in the right place. Preparing Rice Krispie treats pumpkins is quite tricky and sticky, but don’t worry—I’ll properly guide you.

Ingredients for Making Rice Krispie Treats Pumpkins

Here are the ingredients that you need to prepare the delightful Rice Krispie treats pumpkins.

  • 6 cups of Rice Krispies
  • 1 large bag of Marshmallows
  • Orange food coloring
  • Green M&M’s
  • Mini Rolos
  • ¼ cup of butter
  • ½ cup of cooking oil, optional, to make your hands non-sticky

If you have a non-stick food handling glove, then you can wear it while preparing this recipe so there’d be no need for the cooking oil.

Instructions on Making Rice Krispie Treats Pumpkins

As I said earlier, it may be sticky, it might be tricky, but ultimately, making Rice Krispie treats pumpkins is quite simple and doesn’t take much time. Here are the step-by-step instructions for you to follow.

Step 1: Place a large pot over low heat, and melt the butter. Now, add in the marshmallows and stir slowly until it is melted and well mixed with the butter.

Step 2: Remove from heat. Now, add in drops of the orange coloring while stirring until it is properly mixed and orange in color.

Step 3: Add in the Rice Krispies, and stir to combine.

Step 4: Now, get a non-stick food handling glove, roll the Rice Krispies mix into small balls, and set aside on parchment paper. If you don’t have gloves, coat both sides of your hands with cooking oil before rolling the mixture into balls, and coat again for every ball.

Step 5: While the balls are still warm, gently press the Mini Rolos on the top of each ball, and add the green M&M’s beside it as a leaf.

Step 6: Allow to cool, and your Rice Krispies treats pumpkins are ready for your Halloween party.

Note:

  • In step 5, if the balls are no longer warm, make a small indent using a small, round object on the top for the Mini Rolos to sit.
  • If you can’t get orange food coloring, get red and yellow food coloring, and use a mix of them to achieve the orange color, a ratio of 3:1 for yellow and red would do.
