Equipment

  • 1 Jar
  • 1 Lid

Ingredients

  • 6 oranges
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Water

Instructions

  • Wash the oranges and lemon thoroughly and cut them into small pieces, removing the seeds as you go. Place the pieces in a large pot.
  • Add enough water to cover the fruit, about 4 cups, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the pot from heat and let it cool down. Once cooled, use a blender or food processor to puree the fruit mixture until it is smooth.
  • Return the puree to the pot and add the sugar and cinnamon stick. Stir well.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about an hour, or until it reaches the desired consistency. You can test the consistency by placing a small amount on a plate and letting it cool. If it is too runny, continue to simmer until it thickens.
  • Once the it has reached the desired consistency, remove the cinnamon stick and pour the mixture into sterilized jars. Seal the jars and let them cool before storing.
