Equipment

  • 1 Cooking pan
  • 1 Strainer
  • 1 Blender optional

Ingredients

  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions

  • Pour the water, vinegar, and sugar into a cooking pan, and mix them.
  • Mix in the blackberries and raspberries. Put the cooking pan on medium-high heat, then allow the mixture to start boiling while stirring.
  • Mix the cornstarch with a little bit of water to form a slurry, then pour it into the pan and mix it slowly with the others.
  • This is optional, but if you want the sauce to be thicker, break the berries down, and allow the mixture to boil on low heat for about 10 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat, pour the sauce into a bowl, and allow to cool down for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Pour the sauce into a high-speed blender, and blend it until it is very smooth.
  • Pour the pureed sauce into a strainer, and strain it to remove any seeds or solids.
  • Now, pour the strained sauce into a container.
  • Viola! You have made the legendary sauce.

Notes

  • If you do not have a blender, you can use a potato masher to turn the mixture into a smooth thick sauce.
  • You can add a little chili if you want the sauce to taste spicier.
  • If you can't get fresh berries, you can use the frozen counterpart instead, but make sure to defrost them first.
