Salads are usually seen as a side dish but nowadays, they’re the main dish, if you’re looking to try out some fresh salad recipes, this Classic Green Salad is made just for you. It is made using fresh greens, and the dressing tastes delightful, to say the least. Without further ado, let’s get right into it.

Classic Green Salad Recipe

This classic green salad recipe is made with lots of veggies which makes it perfect for those who want to eat healthily. This is a quick, fresh, and refreshing salad that you can easily prepare when you need to and it can be eaten as a main dish or served as a side to almost anything.

How to Prepare the Classic Green Salad Recipe

One good thing about this recipe is its simplicity and ease of preparation, you can toss everything together at the last minute and serve right after. Here’s what you’ll need and how you’ll prepare this recipe.

Ingredients for Preparing Classic Green Salad Recipe

Here are the ingredients you need to prepare this delicious classic green salad at home.

For Salad:

  • 2 head of soft lettuce
  • 1 Persian cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 Avocado, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup of microgreens
  • ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese, shaved
  • 2 tablespoons of pepitas
  • ½ cup of raw almonds, if you want
  • ½ tablespoon of tamari

For Dressing:

  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 small garlic clove, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt, more to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ to ⅓ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon honey, or maple syrup, optional

Instructions on Preparing the Classic Green Salad Recipe 

Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to prepare this delicious and classical green salad recipe.

For the Dressing:

Step 1: In a bowl, add lemon juice, garlic, mustard, salt, pepper, and honey. Whisk together properly, and drizzle in the olive oil whilst whisking. Keep on whisking until the mixture is emulsified.

For the Almonds:

If you would love almonds in your salad, you should do this.

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (or 175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set the almonds on the sheet, and coat lightly with tamari.

Step 2: Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until browned. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 5 minutes.

For the Salad:

Step 1: Pull the lettuce leaves apart, wash and set them on a kitchen towel for a few minutes to allow them to dry well.

Step 2: In a large bowl, add the lettuce leaves and drizzle a few spoonfuls of the salad dressing. Toss the leaves until the dressing is incorporated well.

Step 3: Add in the cucumber, avocado, Parmesan cheese, pepitas, and roasted almond. Drizzle more dressing on the salad and toss everything together making sure the dressing coats everything well. 

Notes:

  • You can also use butter lettuce or similar lettuce to make this recipe.
