Equipment

  • Food processor or a large resealable bag and rolling pin
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or wax paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler
  • Fork or dipping tool

Ingredients
  

  • 14.3 oz Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz 1 block cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz semi-sweet or white chocolate chips for coating
  • Sprinkles or crushed Oreos for garnish This is optional

Instructions
 

Prepare the Oreo Crumbs

  • Place the Oreos in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form.
  • Alternatively, crush the cookies in a resealable bag using a rolling pin.

Mix with Cream Cheese

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese.
  • Mix thoroughly until the mixture is uniform and forms a dough-like consistency.

Shape the Balls

  • Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a smooth ball using your hands.
  • Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Chill the Balls

  • Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 1 hour, or freeze for 20 minutes, until firm.

Melt the Chocolate

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
