  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk or wooden spoon
  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Oven

Ingredients
  

For the Cobbler Base

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted

For the Pecan Filling

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups hot water
  • ½ cup light corn syrup

Optional Topping

  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.

Prepare the Batter

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar. Stir to mix.
  • Add the milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Whisk or stir until a smooth batter forms.

Assemble the Cobbler Base

  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.

Prepare the Pecan Filling

  • Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the batter.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and granulated sugar together. Sprinkle this mixture over the pecans.

Add the Liquid Ingredients

  • Combine the hot water and corn syrup in a small bowl or measuring cup. Carefully pour the liquid over the sugar and pecans in the baking dish.
