  • Mixing bowls (large and medium)
  • Electric mixer or whisk
  • Rubber spatula
  • Baking sheet or tray
  • Parchment paper or wax paper
  • Double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
  • Fork or dipping tool

Ingredients
  

Peanut Butter Mixture:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter unsweetened or sweetened, based on preference
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2½ cups powdered sugar

Coating:

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening optional, for a smoother coating

Instructions
 

Prepare the Peanut Butter Mixture:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, softened butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix in powdered sugar, one cup at a time, until the mixture becomes thick and moldable.

Shape the Balls:

  • Scoop out about a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a smooth ball using your hands.
  • Place the peanut butter balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper.
  • Once all balls are shaped, refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to firm up.

Melt the Chocolate:

  • In a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, melt the chocolate chips.
  • If using a microwave, heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until fully melted. Add coconut oil if a smoother consistency is desired.

Coat the Peanut Butter Balls:

  • Use a fork or dipping tool to dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  • Gently tap off any excess chocolate and return the coated ball to the parchment-lined tray.

Chill and Set:

  • Refrigerate the coated peanut butter balls for 15–20 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set.
