Homemade Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

There’s nothing quite like the taste of homemade peanut butter cookies. That rich, nutty flavor with just the right balance of sweet and salty makes peanut butter cookies one of my favorite snacks. Whether you enjoy them fresh out of the oven while they’re still warm and soft or love dunking them into a cold glass of milk, peanut butter cookie remains a classic treat.

One of the best things about peanut butter cookies is how simple  and easy it is to make. With just a few basic ingredients (most of which you probably already have in your kitchen), you can quickly make some in a matter of minutes. No complicated steps, no fancy equipment, just a straightforward recipe that delivers delicious results every time. And of course, there’s the signature crisscross pattern on top, made by pressing a fork into the dough before baking. It’s a small but fun detail that makes these cookies instantly recognizable.

The following section would be the complete steps on how to make enjoyable homemade peanut butter cookies in a matter of minutes.

  • Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in baking soda, salt, and flour until a soft dough forms. If using add-ins, fold them in at this stage.
  • Shape the Cookies: Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Place on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
