Ingredients for Preparing Instant Pot Chicken Parmesan Recipe

Here is a short list of ingredients you need to make this recipe at home.

  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into 4 cutlets
  • 1 jar of marinara sauce, about 3 cups
  • 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder 
  • 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning 
  • ½ teaspoon of Salt
  • ½ teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • Fresh basil or parsley, to garnish 

Instructions for Preparing the Instant Pot Parmesan Recipe

Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to make the delicious instant pot chicken parmesan recipe. 

Step 1: Run the chicken cutlets with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning, and make sure to rub them in properly.

Step 2: Pour your marinara sauce into the instant pot, then toss in the seasoned chicken whilst scooping some sauce on top of the chicken.

Step 3: Close the lid of the pot, and set the valve to seal, then cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.

Step 4: When the pot reaches the right pressure, it’ll notify you by beeping, then release the steam. 

Step 5: Now, open the lid gently, and top the chicken with cheese, then close the lid, and allow it to sit until the cheese is melted.

Viola! your instant pot chicken parmesan is ready, and you can enjoy it with some cooked spaghetti or any other type of pasta that you enjoy.

Notes: 

  • If you can’t get marinara sauce, any other pasta sauce will do a good enough job of being a substitute.

How to Store Leftover Instant Pot Chicken Parmesan

If you’re fortunate to have leftovers, here’s what you can do. 

  • Place in a container and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • If you are planning on making ahead, you can stop right before adding the cheese, then place it in a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 3 months. Allow to thaw in the fridge overnight, then after reheating, add in the cheese and allow to melt just like normal.
