How to Prepare the Reindeer Cheese Ball Recipe

Despite its exotic looks, the reindeer cheese ball is quite simple to prepare. There is no complexity in the process, so you do not need to do much.

Ingredients for Preparing Reindeer Cheese Ball

Here are the ingredients you need to prepare this reindeer cheese ball recipe.

  • 2 (8 ounces) blocks of cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 3½ cup of sharp cheddar cheese, shredded, at room temperature
  • ⅓ cup of sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons of ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 cups of pecans, roughly chopped
  • 2 medium-sized black olives
  • 2 regular-sized pretzels
  • 1 small cherry tomato

Instructions for Preparing Reindeer Cheese Ball

Here are the step-by-step instructions you need to prepare the reindeer cheese ball at home.

Step 1: Get a large bowl, and use a hand mixer to blend the cream cheese (at room temperature) and sour cream together until they’re well mixed.

Step 2: Add the shredded Cheddar cheese and ranch seasoning to the mixture, and once again, use the hand mixer to blend until everything is combined perfectly.

Step 3: Lay the cheese ball mixture on a large plastic wrap, use the wrap to cover the mixture. Mold into a ball shape, twist it shut, then place in the refrigerator for 4 hours.

Step 4: Bring the cheese ball out of the refrigerator, and place it on a plate filled with chopped pecans. Press the pecans into the cheese ball evenly until it’s fully covered.

Step 5: Press two pretzels into the top of the cheese ball to serve as the reindeer antlers.

Step 6: Make two indents on the cheese ball without the pecans staying on, then place two black olives there to serve as the eyes.

Step 7: Make another indent in between and below the eyes, and place the cherry tomatoes there to serve as the nose.

Step 8: Viola! Your reindeer cheese ball is ready, serve with some crackers and herbs around it to enhance the appearance.

Notes:

  • You can add bacon bits to the cheese mixture to add a bit of dynamism to the flavor profile.
  • You can use a pretzel stick to make the black olive eyes and cherry tomato nose stay in place.

How to Store Reindeer Cheese Ball

The reindeer cheese ball can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator. Just stop at step 3 and store it in the refrigerator till when it is needed, then you can continue with the remaining steps.
