Ingredients
  

  • tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 can undrained diced tomatoes 14.5 ounces
  • 1 can tomato sauce 7 ounces
  • 1 red onion diced
  • 4 cloves of garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ cup raisins
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions
 

  • Place a large skillet over moderate heat, pour in the oil, and let it heat up.
  • Add the onion and garlic, and fry it over low heat for 3 - 5 minutes until they are soft.
  • Pour in the chili powder, smoked paprika, oregano, thyme, and black pepper, and stir them together very well.
  • Add the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce, and let it boil for a few minutes.
  • Now, let it simmer for nearly 30 minutes on low heat, add in the water and raisins, and stir them properly.
  • Viola! The sauce is ready, make sure to serve it hot.
