  • 1 lb 450 g processed cheese (e.g., Velveeta), cubed
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes optional for heat
  • 1 loaf cocktail rye bread

Instructions
 

Cook the Meat Mixture:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and sausage until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.

Melt the Cheese:

  • Reduce the heat to low and add the cubed processed cheese to the skillet. Stir constantly until the cheese is fully melted and combined with the meat.

Season the Mixture:

  • Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well.

Prepare the Bread Base:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Lay out the cocktail rye bread slices in a single layer.
  • Assemble:
