  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar plus extra for coating
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts walnuts, pecans, or almonds work best

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven:

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Dough:

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing just until combined. Fold in the finely chopped nuts using a spatula.

Shape the Cookies:

  • Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough, roll it into a ball, and place it onto the prepared baking sheet. Repeat, spacing the cookies about 1 inch apart.

Bake the Cookies:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cookies are set but not browned. Keep an eye on them to avoid overbaking.

Cool and Coat:

  • Allow the cookies to cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack. While still warm, roll the cookies in powdered sugar to coat them fully.
  • Once completely cooled, roll them in powdered sugar again for a snowy finish.
