Mounds Bar Recipe: Healthy Christmas Treat

If you’re looking for a fun and simple recipe for something sweet, then you’re in the right place. This Mounds bar recipe is simple and it tastes fantastic. As someone who loves coconut and chocolate, I find myself coming back to this recipe every time I need to make something sweet in no time.

Without taking too much of our precious time, let’s get right into today’s article.

Mounds Bar Recipe

This recipe is quite simple to prepare as it only needs 3 ingredients and takes less than an hour to be ready for serving. Despite its simplicity, the Mounds bar turns out to be super delicious and flavorful.

How to Prepare the Mounds Bar Recipe

Like I’ve said earlier, this is one of the easiest recipes that you can make at home, as it only needs a few ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need and how you’ll make this delicious treat at home.

Ingredients for Preparing Mounds Bar

Here are the ingredients you need to prepare this delicious treat at home.

  • 2 cups of shredded coconut, sweetened or unsweetened
  • ½ cup of sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions for Preparing Mounds Bar

This recipe is simple to prepare and it doesn’t require that many skills. Here are the step-by-step instructions you need to make this delightful snack.

Step 1: In a mixing bowl, pour in the coconut and milk, then mix properly till they’re well combined and sticky but easy to mould.

Step 2: Mould the coconut mixture into 8 equally sized bars, then place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place them in the freezer for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Pour the chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl, then microwave in 30-second bursts while stirring in between to make everything completely melted.

Step 4: Dip the chilled coconut bars in the melted chocolate, and make sure it is well coated. Set aside on a parchment paper and allow to cool and firm up.

Step 5: Viola! Your Mounds bar is ready, and enjoy it with friends and family.

Notes:

  • You can place the coated coconut bars in the fridge for a couple of minutes to speed up the firming process.
  • If you can’t get chocolate chips, you can use chocolate bars or chocolate melting wafers.

If you have some Mounds bars remaining, store them in an airtight container in a cold, dry place for up to 5 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 weeks, or you can also freeze them for longer storage.
