It is very easy to prepare crack chicken and it takes a few ingredients and of course, your slow cooker. Here are the ingredients and instructions on how to prepare the creamy crack chicken at home.

Using just a few ingredients, this crack chicken dish will be ready in no time and you can enjoy it with your friends and family.

  • 1 lb of Chicken breast, boneless and skinless
  • ½ lb of Bacon
  • 1 cup of Cream cheese
  • 1 cup of Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 packet of dry Ranch dressing mix
  • ½ bunch of green onions, chopped

Instructions on Preparing Creamy Crack Chicken Recipe

It may sound tedious, but this recipe is easy and simple to make. Here are the step-by-step instructions you need.

Step 1: In a slow cooker, toss in the chicken on the bottom, then add in the cream cheese, dry Ranch mix, and bacon, accordingly.

Step 2: Cover the slow cooker, and cook on low heat for about 6-8 hours until it is tender enough for you.

Step 3: After that, open the cooker, and shred the chicken using two forks, then sprinkle the cheddar cheese and green onions on top.

Viola! Your crack chicken is ready and you can serve it on its own or with others that I’ll share with you.

Tips:

  • You can use chicken thighs instead, but make sure to debone and skin.
  • To enhance the flavor, always use real bacon.

What to Serve With Crack Chicken

Once this is ready, here are some things you can eat it with.

  • Pasta: You can add some crack chicken on top of your cooked pasta before eating.
  • White Rice: Rice and chicken is a common staple so it always works out.
  • You can add the chicken between the buns or bread as a sandwich.
  • With Mashed Potatoes.
  • As a dip.

How to Store Crack Chicken

Surprisingly, if you have leftovers, this dish is easy to store and still tastes just as good afterward.

  • Place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
  • Place in a freezer-safe container, and freeze for 2-3 months.

When you want to eat it again, allow it to defrost if frozen, then reheat it in the microwave gradually every 30 seconds properly heated.
